RICK (RICHARD)'s Story
Shortly after high school I joined the U.S. Navy. While on leave from my first tour in Vietnam, I met and subsequently married a wonderful lady from Kiefer, Patty Alston (Kiefer Class of 1974). We have been married for 36 years.. Patty has blessed us with a son and daughter, Duane (Class of 1998) and Katrina (Class of 2000) both graduates of SHS. We are also blessed with 4 grandchildren (Ivan, Skyler, Brooklyn and Katherine Grace. We retired in 1992 after 20 years of honorable military service and returned to Sapulpa. I served two tours in Vietnam and during Desert Storm. After military retirement I became the Corporate Manager of an oil related manufacturing company and Patty is a fulltime CNA. We have traveled extensively around the world compliments of the U.S. Navy, to inclue South Korea, China, Singapore, Japan. and the Philippines.

d with anger and stupidity. The military brought me to my senses and helped me to become the man I am today. I would love to have a "do over" but can only make the best of what time I have left. I am a christian and have been blessed with positions as Minister of Music in several Southern Baptist Churchs on the East Coast and in South Korea while serving in the Navy. My most memorable was at Woodlawn Baptist Church, Alexandria, Viriginia on George Washington's Woodlawn Plantation. I will be forever thankful to VeDon Law for what he taught me in music and in helping to develop my vocal abilities and George Brite for my instrumental abilities.
In the mid-70's to 1980 I raced motorcross when my military career allowed. I became a Pro with full sponsorship by KTM cycles in 1977 and raced against Bob "Hurricane" Hannah at Buds Creek Maryland, I got the hole shot over 20 racers however, he won I finished 5th that day. I have won several Motocross races in my tenure until I tore my knee in 1980 racing on the East Coast.
